I went on a search this week and bought a dozen books from authors I had not tried. I wanted a change and decided to just buy books that the blurb drew me in.Some have been bad, some good, and some like this one were great!
From the very beginning this story grabs a hold of you and does not let go. I actually read it in just one day as I didn't want to put my kindle down.
Noah is just one of the characters you love. As the storyline continues you start to question his motives just as much as his lover and the detective Scott. But through it all you just know that he did what he had to do.
Scott is not too Alpha to know what is good for him. Even though they fall into bed quickly there are still some issues that give way to some great scenes.
The sex was smoking hot but it was really the suspense and the way the author greatly wrote the characters that just made this book what it was.
It's been a long time since I have given any book 5 stars but this one to me deserves it.

I mostly liked this story due to the atmospheric elements of the locations. The author did a very nice job of describing the Bayou as well as the Everglades. I could almost feel the air and smell the decay. And the tiny amount of paranormal was something I'd expect with the Bayou.
Any time there is a hardened detective, and a remote location with a handsome young guy, well, there has to be some kind of sparks, right?
For a fairly short story, there was a lot of detail and good closure. A nice comfort read with a feel-good ending.
This is my first from this writer and I will definitely be looking out for more. His writing is tight and absorbing. The plot here is fast paced and like another reviewer says with twists and turns. Most of these twists and turns has to do with one complex character named Noah. Noah easily drives the story as this likable young man plunges headlong into a dark world with only one thing in mind. Revenge for a lost love. Scott is a cop and much older and experienced. I am somewhat surprised by how much more easy going Scott is but then we don't need two complicated characters at logger heads here. The down to earth Scott complements the somewhat fey Noah perfectly. Their romance interwoven into a suspenseful plot is convincing even if it is the usual attraction/love at first sight. I especially love the part towards the end when Noah's struggling feelings come to a cross road. And the romance definitely ends in the best possible way for these two. Great read.

Big Cypress Crossroads is an intriguing story exhibiting drug wars, deception, love and the Santeria faith. The setting is a perfect backdrop for the plot, along with the characters. When the Nigerian people were brought to Cuba and other Latin American countries as slaves, they brought their native religion with them. Their gods became identified with the various saints of the Catholic religion that they were forced to practice. Noah is openly gay but neither his family nor the townspeople have an issue with his sexuality, it is his unique gift that has labeled Noah as strange. Noah receives insights into the future, which has saved the lives of several people around him. Because of his premonitions, Noah is reluctant to fully share his source of knowledge with Scott, which is the basis for their lack of trust dilemma. They love each other yet there is that little nagging uncertainty in the back of their minds. Noah and Scott are on the same mission, each man has a personal reason to see their objective succeed. By joining their operations, Noah and Scott develop a relationship. The intimacy scenes are splendid. The plot builds up to a thrilling action pack climax. Bren Christopher's Big Cypress Crossroads is an excellent, as well as extremely enjoyable, saga.
Loose Id is pretty failtastic on their book blurbs, they lead you in the wrong directions.
